FAMILY TRAGEDY STRIKES!

I won't go into too much detail here. But I feel I need to explain why I'll be mostly unavailable for the next few weeks.

Yesterday my cousin and his wife's lives were cut short due to an instance of domestic violence. My parents received the call in the middle of the night Thursday night, and called me Friday morning to let me know. Unfortunately, this is sending my family into a tail spin (needless to say).

Pray for my family!
MY ISE4 PACKAGE HAS ARRIVED!

First was a beautiful hand made card with a wonderfully written note.

Then, CHOCOLATES!!! Bing Cherries covered in chocolate. From right here in my home state. How she managed to get them for me I don't know. But I so appreciate them. Woo Hoo! I can't wait to dig into them!

This was one of the biggest surprises in the package. I do not remember when I blogged about my State Beenie Bears collection. But I obviously did. And the world's best pal, read about it and took the time to send me one from her home state. This one brings my collection up to seven. Thank you ISE4 pal!

Even my dog Samantha got a gift. This is the most elegent dog leash I have ever seen. Something I would probably never purchased for myself, or Samantha.

Sock yarn! Sockotta sock yarn to be exact. In the cutest shades of purple. I think I might have to cast these on right away.

And the gifts kept coming. Beautiful hand made stitch markers. In purple of course!
And last, but most definately not in any way the least.
I present, my ISE4 scarf! (drum roll please)

Isn't she beautiful. I'm sorry pal about the not so perfect picture. It's a glommy day here, and I look a mess. So I draped your beautiful work over my lamp shade and snapped a pic to share with the world. Believe me, there's no way I could do your work justice on a day like today. The purple Rowan Kidsilk Haze is a perfect compliment to the beautiful lacy pattern, and beading work. (That's right people, she knit with beads around the edge) This scarf will be perfect for any cool summer nights.
Thank you so much, Dr. Ruth, for all your hard work. And for thinking me worthy or your time and energy. Thank you for thinking about my baby (Samantha), and for reading me like a book and gifting me a package full of gifts that will make my day, for days to come. I needed this more than I will say right now.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

LOOKIE WHAT I GOT

For those who don't know me that well, I'll let you in on a little secret. (Shhhh, don't tell anyone!)
I absolutely LOVE any and all things Betty Boop!!

Over the last few months I have come across several bloggers who made their own sock/project bags out of their own fabrics. I knew immediately that I wanted at least one Betty Boop. Since I was a die hard quilter a couple of years ago, I had collected lots of Betty Boop fabrics just waiting to become sock/project bags. My only problem is my sewing machine is broken.

I asked one of the knitters from my Tuesday night knit, that I knew enjoyed sewing and making things, if she would mind making me a bag or two out of my fabrics. She graciously said, no problem. And these precious items are the results of her wonderful work.

There's a medium sized project bag.

A small sock sized bag.

And the surprise to me, since I hadn't thought of or asked for are the mini pouch and dpn holder.

Do I have the best knit friends a girl could ask for or what? The only problem I know I'm going to have is trying to get her to let me pay her for her work. I may just have to sneak a present or two or three into her bag at next weeks knit night.

KNITTERS ARE THE BEST!!!

ALL DONE!!!

I finished the Ruffles scarf I was making for my ISE4 pal tonight during a horror movie marathon.

Looks like a big pink squiggly worm doesn't it.

I hope my pal likes it. I've got a couple of ideas for other goodies for her. I want to get her package in the mail by Friday.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!!! YIPPEE!!!

Since I don't really know a lot of bloggers, I didn't think I'd be tagged. But low and be-hold, LarjMarj got tagged and in turn tagged me. Thanks Marj! I've wanted to answer these questions for a while.

Let's see, seven random things about me:

1. I was married and divorced before the age of 25.

2. I wanted children all my life. (unfortunately it was not meant to be)

3. My iPod includes almost every music genre available. (Rock, Heavy Metal, R & B, Rap,
Country, Classical, Pop, etc.)

4. I can't attend a wedding, wedding shower, or baby shower from begging to end.

5. I use to choose my crafts to give myself an excuse to stay home alone.

6. I have always wanted to cruise around the world. (The day I hit the lottery I'm outta here!)

7. I absolutely love Horror Movies!

Now who do I tag? Let's see...

I don't think I can. The few people I can think to tag have already been tagged, or were tagged by Marj. I hope this doesn't screw things up.

T.G.I.F.

I'm settling in tonight to try and finish my ISE4 pal's scarf. That is if I can just stay off Ravelry.com. Like so many other's, I'm completely addicted to the thought of having all of my knitting projects, books, needles and stash organized in one place.

Have a great weekend all!

TODAY'S T-SHIRT

I absolutely love this shirt. Since I work mostly with men, my days tend to be filled with jokes, laughter and an occasional raunchy lymric.

Not too bad. Even if I do say so myself.

edited to answer comment:

This is my first successful attempt at creating an original sock pattern. Wish me luck!

THE WATCH COCK, AND ASST. SILLINESS!!!

Last night was my LYS's Knit Night. And as always the case, I had a blast. I keep forgetting to take pictures to share here. One day I'll get it right.

My Tuesday night knit buddy LarjMarj made it out this time. And I was so excited to see her. Also there from Tuesday night is my good friend Amy. And from the Wednesday night group (that I have yet to attend) were Amanda and Lynn. There were several other really nice ladies there, but I didn't know most of them.

As always, afterwards we walked down to Ammicci's for martini's. I'm not sure which one of us noticed it, but on top a metal cabinet in the kitchen was a little chicken figurine. Someone joked that it was the restaurants watch chicken. And out of no-where Marj (the always funny lady) said; "it's the Watch Cock!". Needless to say we all busted out laughing, and me being the silly girl I am pulled out my phone and snapped a pic of the little chicken looking down on the kitchen staff.

What a great time, with a great group of ladies. As is always the case.

One thing did surprise me. Amanda and Marg had not heard about Ravelry.com. I didn't think there was anyone in blog land who hadn't heard about it. The first time I heard about it, I ran right over and signed up to be get an invitation. As quick as a wink, I actually got my invitation in less that a day. Unfortunately I haven't had time to really sit down and play around with it. But I wanted to put it out there for anyone else who reads my blog. Go over and sign up quickly! In my opinion this is going to be huge in the knit-blog community. And I can't wait to see how far this is going to go.

I've decided I need to get at least a little better organized. So I'm going to spend most of this weekend cataloging my yarn, my books, my UFO's, my WIP's and my wish lists. All with the help of my semi-trust worthy camera and the wonderfulness that is Ravelry.com.

See you all soon.
I'M COMPLETELY AMAZED...

My Secret Pal struck yet again!

I got up early this morning to run a couple of errands and look what was parked on my door step:

I was not expecting any more presents from my SP10, so you can imagine my surprise. Included was a thoughtfully written letter, flavored chocolates wrapped with ribbon on the cutest purple heart (with a note inside: "To The Purple Princess"), and a Best of "Sade" cd. How did my SP know that I love Sade? If it was a guess, it was a dead on guess. Also, and I forgot to specifically mention it before, is a origami star (?). My other packages also included small pieces of origami. I am loving the well thought shapes.

When I signed up for SP10 I had no idea I would be so fortunate as to get such an extreme spoiler. I feel so blessed and overwhelmed.

Thank you Sp10! Whomever you are!

MORE YARNY GOODNESS!

Today there was a package on my doorstep when I got home. Yippee, it's my sock club package from Sheri at The Loopy Ewe.

The package includes a beautiful skein of yarn dyed specifically for The Loppy Ewe by "All Things Heather". And the "Summerfield Socks" pattern by Lisa Parker.

Also in the package was a lemon scented-sheep shaped hand made soap by "The Soap Plantation", a poem created for us by Sheri, a package of Kool-Aid and a small bag of Hershey's Kisses.

I love getting presents. Thanks Sheri.

Wacky Wednesday's T-Shirt

Sorry about the angle. I had to take the pic myself.
This shirt is dedicated to a very annoying co-worker.

Appologes to my Secret Pal...

I'm sorry SP. I forgot to mention the beautiful picture post card with the lovely letter written on it. (I'll take a pic and post it a little later)

Sorry!

My SP10 is the Best!!!

I got home from running errands this morning and found a package on my porch. Inside was a wide assortment of goodies.
There was even a special present just for Samantha.

My SP10 included the cutest little shaped candles.
Gourmet Chocolate Eggs. A wonderful scented purple (my favorite color) heart shaped (my favorite shape) lovely smelling sachet. Also, a glittered gold pen in a beautiful silver mesh pouch. More chocolate (chilli pepper flavored, I think?)

And would you believe it, she actually knit me a purple hat. Which fits me perfectly! And it has the cutest button on it.
That's right people, my SP10 knit me a hat! A hat that fits me perfect, is the perfect color, and the softest yarn (Rowan Kid Classic and Kid silk Haze) I could imagine for a hat. She even included the name of the pattern/designer (Gala by Kim Hargraver). What more could I ask for?

But she didn't stop there. The package also contained a skein of Collinette Jitterbug in Floretina colorway. (I purchased the last skein of this color from my LYS thinking I'd have to make footies because they didn't have a second skein. Now I have enough to make a full pair of socks. Thanks Secret Pal)
Lastly, I got some Tetley plus tea (which I'm sipping on as I type) and my favorite Easter treat, chocolate eggs.

What a great pal I have. She's been reading my blog, (and maybe my mind), and picking the perfect pressies for me.

THANKS SECRET PAL!!!

TODAY'S T-SHIRT

Just about says it all, doesn't it?
